Core Aeration

Over time your soil naturally becomes compacted, leaving the subsoil undesirable for healthly lawn growth.Compaction is greatest in the upper 1 to 1.5 inches of soil and needs to be relieved by a mechanincal process aeration. This process plugs 2-3 inches deep finger size holes into the soil to improve the air, water and nutrients exchange with the roots.

Verticutting & Overseeding

September is the time to start thinking about lawn renovation. Verticutting involves a mechanical process where we cut slits in your lawn about 3/4 of an inch deep with each pass of equipment while droppin seed in slit areas. For this treatment to be most effective we recommend mowing and bagging your lawn before treatment. You should water lightly for the next few weeks and see growth in about three weeks.

Prune & Trim Shrubs and Bushes

June is the perfect time to prune and trim shrubs and bushes. When and how to trim bushes properly are important aspects in keeping your busehs and shrubs healthy and in promoting proper growth. While most all bushes and shrubs benefit from pruning, they all will suffer if it is done improperly. Dead and diseased wood are good candidates for removal, as are any branches that cross other branches. These will rub and abrade over time, creating an opening for pests and disease. Branches that grow inwards, crowding the interior of a bush, should also be removed, allowing for greater air circulation and more light to reach the plant’s center. A well-pruned shrub will grow to its full potential in your yard and become a source of great pleasure.
